WP6 - Evaluation of presence measures

Workpackage 6 provides measures of presence for the characterization of the demonstrators and evaluate their ultimate performance. On this field IMMERSENCE will closely cooperate with the PRESENCCIA project by using the generic principles established there, adapting them to the special needs for our demonstrators and feeding back the specific experiences which will help the further development of the general theory. Such a feedback loop will also be established within the IMMERSENCE project itself by using the evaluation results to improve the components and systems resulting from workpackages 3,4,5. Finally the close coupling with workpackage 2 has also to be mentioned, as the presence measures can only be developed based on a solid neuroscientific basis, while the actual measurements in workpackage 6 provide an opportunity for a first proof of concept for neuroscientific insights in a complex environment which much more closely approximates reality than the experiments carried out in workpackage 2.
